In little message number eight we talked about creation evangelism, and now it is time to emphasize evangelism again. The Christian gospel is the good news concerning Christ, the Kingdom of God and salvation and like any account of history, contains a series of events that cover the story. This gospel must be understood as being historically accurate and true if we are going to have any real success in convincing others. Of course the Holy Spirit is the main ingredient in the equation of persuasion, but nevertheless the components of the argument must be understood as literally true and logical.
A convenient summary of these events can be clearly seen in the concept of dividing the Gospel into a series of seven headings each beginning with the letter C. These seven divisions are arranged in chronological order as they appear in the Bible.
Creation - God's perfect six day work of creation. (Gen.1:31)
Corruption - Corruption of God's world by man's sin.(Gen.3)
Catastrophe - The worldwide catastrophe of Noah's flood. (Gen. 6:17)
Confusion - The confusion of the languages at Babel. (Gen. 11:6-8) This resulted in a division of all the people into groups which then genetically became what we now call races, although the word race is not mentioned in the Bible. Only the words tribes and nations are used in scripture. The ultimate answer to the racial strife in the world today can only come through the realization that there has never been but one human kind.
Cross - The resurrecting power of Christ's cross. (1 Cor.1:18)
Church - The work of His church (body of true believers) today and now. (Matt. 16:18)
Consumation - The consumation of all things in the new heavens and new Earth ushered in with Christ's Second Coming. (Rev. 21:1)
It immediately becomes obvious if you review the above seven C's that for the past one hundred and fifty years the church has been putting heavy emphasis on only the last three C's. The creation science ministry urges Christians to become aware of this and return to a total presentation of the Gospel for more successful results. To present only the last three C's has the same effect as showing a movie to an audience but only showing the last half of the movie over and over again.
