CREATION SCIENCE MESSAGES
NOAH AND THE FLOOD
NUMBER 19

Remember, there are only two options for origins, creation or evolution. If one chooses evolution, then there must be a scenario of millions and billions of years for evolution to even be feasible. Evolutionists therefore, cannot believe in the biblical account of The Flood in Noah's time because that would give a simple explanation for the existence of fossils that would not include millions and billions of years. The usual explanations from evolutionists who proclaim to be Christians are to try to have us believe The Flood of Noah's time was only of a local nature, and not world-wide. This little message is to convince Christians that The Bible teaches that The Flood was universal.

Noah was directed by God to build an ark longer than a football field including the end zones, 75 feet wide, and three stories tall. The ark had the capacity of 522 standard livestock cars used on the railroad. Noah worked on the ark for 120 years. All of this time he was warning the people as a preacher of what was coming and had no converts except his own family. Don't you know that must have been discouraging, but remember these people had never seen rain, or any form of bad weather.

God designed the ark for capacity and floating stability: modern shipbuilding science demonstrates that the design and dimensions cannot be improved upon, that it is exceedingly stable and almost impossible to capsize. Also it has been shown it would tend to align itself parallel with the direction of wave advance and thus be subject to minimum pitching.

Did you know that if you could take all of the water off of the earth and place it in a huge container in space, then level the earth as smooth as a billiard ball, and then pour the water back on the smooth earth, the water would be 12,000 feet deep everywhere?

Did you know the top of Mt. Everest is covered with fossil sea shells indicating Mt. Everest was once on the ocean floor. In other words there may not have been any high mountains before the flood. Remember at the end of day six everything was very good. Genesis 7:19 and 20 tells us "And the waters prevaled exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered." Hills and mountains are the same word in the original Hebrew and this may well be a case of Hebrew parallelism for the purpose of emphasis. At any rate, there is no intent to convey the idea of a local flood. Fifteen cubits is the amount of water the ark would have needed to float over the top of anything.

Also does this sound like a local flood? Genesis 6:7,8--"And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord."
