Please think through this carefully, because The Law Of Causality is really very simple. Many years ago, the course of Logic was taught in schools to everyone. Both of my parents were taught Logic in public schools. Logic is the science of right reasoning, and the teaching of it in school certainly should be revived. Logic was removed from the curricula by secular humanists who proclaim there are no absolutes, and thus the course of logic, they said, was useless. The secular humanists would be correct if it were not for God and the fact that God is omniscient (has all knowledge) and has directed the writing of the Bible. To state an absolute requires all knowledge, and therefore the Bible is a huge collection of absolutes.

Probably, the most basic of all logical ideas is known as the Law Of Causality. This law proclaims that every effect has a cause. This is a truth of common sense, and is basic in all scientific and human investigation. The law includes the idea that the effect is never greater than the cause. Everything around you is an effect, the shoes you wear had a cause, this paper you are reading had a cause, the dirt we walk upon had a cause, the trees and grass and rocks and mountains had a cause. If I ask where did the shoes come from and the answer is leather, then where did the leather come from and the answer is cowhide, then where did the cowhide come from we are searching for a FIRST CAUSE. What does a creationist say is the FIRST CAUSE? The answer is "In the beginning (time) God created the heaven (space) and the earth" (matter). This was the FIRST CAUSE of time space and matter. What does an evolutionist say is the FIRST CAUSE? An evolutionist says time, space, and matter are eternal and thus had no FIRST CAUSE. An evolutionist denies the first verse of the Bible. An evolutionist may talk about a BIG BANG THEORY but never has an answer for where did the matter come from that exploded in the BIG BANG and where did the space come from that the matter spread out into and where did the time come from when the BIG BANG happened, or where did the energy come from that powered the process.

We Christians need to tell our young people this simple truth again and again to arm them against secular humanist evolutionary teaching in government schools. The primary protection from falling back into pantheism where everything (the creation) becomes God, and man turns from worshipping the Creator to worshiping His creation can be found in the clear concept of FIRST CAUSE. Evolutionary teaching is clearly the teaching that there is no FIRST CAUSE for origins and thus the first verse of Genesis is denied.
