Geologic is a simple word being an adjective relating to the noun geology. Geology comes from the Greek roots [geo meaning earth + logy meaning study of], therefore geology is the science of the study of the earth. Man has always been interested in the study of the earth, and geology is a very practical modern science applied to mining, oil and mineral exploration etc.

In the early 1800's almost all men interested in geology believed the layers of sedimentary rocks that are visible all around the earth on high ground were evidence of the devastating flood of Noah's time as described in the Bible, and dated to 4,400 years ago by geneologies given in the text of scripture. It was generally believed there could be no explanation for these rock layers except the devastation of the churning of deep water and mud formation as it ripped up and buried the world as it had existed before The Flood. The mud was filled with ground up rock that has cementing qualities and thus after the flood in many places hardened into layers of sedimentary rock trapping plants and creatures that were turned into coal, fossils, and oil. If you will take a jar of soil and water today and shake it vigorously then let it settle you will see clear sedimentary layers will form. When you look at these layers along the edge of the highway you see smooth even junctions running sometimes for miles with no evidence of creeks or stump holes or any irregularity at all which would be absurd in the real world. To imagine those smooth edges could represent millions of years is simply not rational and to believe such an idea would require a person to be willfully blind.

Before the layers could harden fully in some areas great forces from the weight of water pushed some of the layers into giant U and upside down U formations that are clearly visible today in the fully hardened state. There is no way U shaped layers could settle and harden over millions of years, yet this is what atheistic evolutionary thinking would have us believe. Layers will always settle on a level, never running uphill or downhill or breaking in places. These slanting layers show forces have acted on hardened layers to push them off of a level plane.

During The Flood as tremendous amounts of mud were moving about the creatures on the ocean bottom such as clams and oysters would be buried first and deepest. Creatures that drowned and floated would be buried in higher levels or not at all as they floated on the surface and rotted.

Did you know that 95% of all fossils are marine invertebrates, particularly shellfish (bottom dwellers in the ocean). Of the remaining 5%, 95% are algae and plant fossils. The fossil record is best understood as the result of a marine cataclysm that annihilated the continent and land dwellers.

Please remember the evolutionary theory collapses without millions and billions of years. Charles Lyell (1797-1875) is generally considered to be the father of the ancient geological concept and was a close friend of Charles Darwin (1809-1882). Lyell was motivated primarily by hatred of the Bible and this can be inferred from his associations and correspondence. It is well documented that Darwin's chief reading material on his famous five year voyage on H.M.S. Beagle was the first edition of Charles Lyell's Principles Of Geology, and Darwin was converted to the vast geological ages of time concept as he developed the theory of evolution by natural selection.

You have all seen many pictures of the geologic column starting with the supposed precambrian period over supposedly 100 million years ago and coming up to the world today. Christian geologists, and there are quite a few, do not believe the ancient earth concept and tell us there are no scientific problems that cannot be solved if we believe the straight Bible record of creation and The Flood. Did you know the geologic column does not exist in the real world? It only exists on paper and in textbooks. In the real world the layers with their fossils are frequently in reversed order or completely intermixed. Often a supposed more recent layer will rest on top of a supposed ancient layer with no layers in between. What the real world shows makes sense if the cause of it all was the devastatingly destructve Flood of Noah’s time,but makes no sense in the concept of slow settling over millions of years. Also in the real world one layer sits on top of another in a sharp smooth even manner and extends for miles which would be ridiculous with all the erosion that would have occured over long periods of time. Next time you drive into Birmingham on I-65 ask yourself if all those smooth layers of rock running uphill or downhill could have hardened and then been pushed up into mountains by tremendous forces. I believe they could.

Recall that though evolution has never scientifically been observed to occur, and though it cannot be demonstrated by experiment, and though no scientific mechanism has ever been discovered whereby it might occur, the entire world media continues to tell us over and over again that evolution is true, is a proven fact, and is science, and that the world is millions and billions of years old.

"Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying , where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was being overflowed with water, perished." 2nd. Peter 3:3-8
