This little message is being written for Christians not skeptics. Think of the editions of the Bible that contain the words of Jesus in red letters, my present Bible is of this type. If a person claims to be a Christian, the words of Jesus Christ should certainly be of tremendous importance to him. Let's check and see what some of the quotes of Jesus have to say about the importance of the book of Genesis. Before we do that, let me say there are over two hundred direct quotations or allusions from the old testament in the New Testament. Over one hundred of these are from the first eleven chapters of Genesis. These first eleven chapters of Genesis are the ones that skeptics and unbelievers most often proclaim to be simply old myths and legends. Did Jesus think they were myths and legends when he quoted from Genesis? Lets look at a few of these quotes and decide. Since this machine will not print in red we will use capital letters for the words of Jesus.

"BUT FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE CREATION GOD MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE." (Mark 10:6) see Genesis 1:27 Made male and female. Think about that. If origins had been from evolution, there would have been no male and female from the beginning.

"FOR IN THOSE DAYS SHALL BE AFFLICTION, SUCH AS WAS NOT FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE CREATION WHICH GOD CREATED UNTO THIS TIME, NEITHER SHALL BE." (Mark 13:19) see Genesis 2:4 Creation which God created.

"HE THAT HATH AN EAR, LET HIM HEAR WHAT THE SPIRIT SAITH UNTO THE CHURCHES; TO HIM THAT OVERCOMETH WILL I GIVE TO EAT OF THE TREE OF LIFE, WHICH IS IN THE MIDST OF THE PARADISE OF GOD." (Revelation 2:7) see Genesis 2:9 This is confirmation that the tree of life and paradise were historical realities and will also be future realities.

"AND SAID, FOR THIS CAUSE SHALL A MAN LEAVE FATHER AND MOTHER, AND SHALL CLEAVE TO HIS WIFE: AND THEY TWAIN SHALL BE ONE FLESH?" (Matthew 19:5) see Genesis 2:24 Cleave to his wife.

"AND THEY TWAIN SHALL BE ONE FLESH: SO THEN THEY ARE NO MORE TWAIN, BUT ONE FLESH" (Mark 10:8) see Genesis 2:24 One flesh.

"YE ARE OF YOUR FATHER THE DEVIL, AND THE LUSTS OF YOUR FATHER YE WILL DO. HE WAS A MURDERER FROM THE BEGINNING, AND ABODE NOT IN THE TRUTH, BECAUSE THERE IS NO TRUTH IN HIM. WHEN HE SPEAKETH A LIE, HE SPEAKETH OF HIS OWN: FOR HE IS A LIAR, AND THE FATHER OF IT." (John 8:44) see Genesis 3:4 Father of lies. It seems Jesus believed in a literal Satan.

"VERILY, VERILY, I SAY UNTO YOU, THAT YE SHALL WEEP AND LAMENT, BUT THE WORLD SHALL REJOICE: AND YE SHALL BE SORROWFUL, BUT YOUR SORROW SHALL BE TURNED INTO JOY." (John 16:20) see Genesis 3:16 Sorrow in travail.

"THAT UPON YOU MAY COME ALL THE RIGHTEOUS BLOOD SHED UPON THE EARTH, FROM THE BLOOD OF RIGHTEOUS ABEL UNTO THE BLOOD OF ZACHARIAS SON OF BARACHIAS, WHOM YE SLEW BETWEEN THE TEMPLE AND THE ALTAR." (Matthew 23:35) Jesus seems to proclaim Abel was a real historical actual person.

"AND AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH, SO SHALL IT BE ALSO IN THE DAYS OF THE SON OF MAN. THEY DID EAT, THEY DRANK, THEY MARRIED WIVES, THEY WERE GIVEN IN MARRIAGE, UNTIL THE DAY THAT NOAH ENTERED INTO THE ARK, AND THE FLOOD CAME, AND DESTROYED THEM ALL." (Luke 17:26,27) Jesus seems to have verified the authenticity of a real Noah and a flood that was more than local.

Christians must not believe that the literal interpretation of Genesis is simply a matter of opinion. Once Creation, the Fall and the Flood are doubted as history, the whole meaning of sin and redemption is blurred and lost. We cannot lose the anchor of Genesis. Satan's religion of Secular humanism which proclaims there is no truth and there are no absolutes and that we have evolved upward and are getting better and better is a lie, because God is omniscient (knows all things, has all knowledge) and has given us the Bible to guide us. The Bible story is entirely different. It says we were created, fell, need redemption, and have a Redeemer. We must defend the Bible and proclaim its truth or we cannot survive Satan's attack. We have no other weapons, and need no other weapons.

Remember the purpose of Creation Science is to strengthen your faith, remove evolutionary thinking from the church, and restore the authority of the word of God.
