As always it is my purpose to try to point out to Christians the danger to the church of evolutionary teaching. It is not well known that there are three arguments for the existence of God. The church has simply neglected to teach the three arguments due to the compromising of scripture since Darwin invaded the church 150 years ago. This little message could easily be expanded into ten pages with lots of examples. I suggest you read it several times at least.
The first argument for the existence of God is the weakest and most often used by the church. I call it the emotional argument and it requires no deep thought. It is summed up in the declaration of "look what the gospel did for me or for that old reprobate sinner over there". Let it do the same for you. Believe what I tell you and get your ticket to heaven right here. Join us and be good like we are. What a shallow idea, no wonder this argument is so ineffective.
The second argument for the existence of God is a stronger argument and is the Biblical argument from design we remember as William Paley (1743-1805) gave in the classic analogy of the evidence from a pocket watch found lying on the ground. This is also the scientific argument. Your common sense would let you know that pocket watch had to be designed and could not have originated itself. There had to be a watchmaker. Can you imagine the incredible complexity of the DNA molecule? This DNA molecule is in the nucleus of every cell in your body. This molecule has all the stored information to control the protein synthesis of the construction of this machine we call a body that houses us, and to keep repairing it and heal it when injured. It is duplicated every time a cell is reproduced. This is hundreds of thousands of times daily. Have you ever seen a model of this molecule? This DNA molecule looks like two spiraling vines around a telephone pole with millions of different colored berries growing on the vines representing atoms. The DNA present in a single cell, if it were unraveled, would be about two meters long. The information it contains is so condensed that typed in a single line would stretch around the earth at the equator 33.5 times. In an adult human being, the number of cells is round about 10 trillion. This means the total length of the DNA in a single human being would extend from the earth to the sun 100 times. Yet this DNA is tightly packed inside the chromosomes of each cell. Where did that much orderly, organized information come from? We know that matter cannot assemble itself into complexity like this, especially for no purpose and by blind chance. The Bible makes reference to this complexity when it says in Romans 1:20 "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and godhead; so that they are without excuse". This says God is clearly evident and there is no excuse for unbelief. What a sobering thought. The more science discovers the complexity of what has always been here, the more evidence we see of God if our minds are open instead of closed.
The third argument for the existence of God is the strongest of all. It is the argument from the first law of logic. It is known as the law of cause and effect. This law says there is a cause for everything and everything is an effect. No rational person can argue with this. Nothing occurs without a cause. This law governs all activity of any type and especially all scientific investigation. The science of physics states this universe is composed of three things and the three are time space and matter. Time space and matter are effects. What is the cause? The Bible says: "In the beginning (time) God created the heaven (space) and the earth (matter). This idea is so important God put it first. This idea of course is supernatural. We are saying God created time space and matter (ex-nihilo) out of nothing. Our finite intelligence cannot comprehend God speaking time space and matter into existence. We will not jump over that hurdle, and cannot jump over it without help. The Holy Spirit (God) has to help us over the hurdle. Evolution is ultimately the religion of no creation. To imagine dodging the supernatural the evolutionist thinks he will believe there was no creation, no supernatural beginning of all things, that everything began by natural cause. This is a trap for the unbeliever. To believe there was no beginning would be a supernatural idea also. It denies the first law of logic. It says there was no cause for an effect. So the evolutionist has traded a supernatural creator for an idea of a supernatural nonexistent solution to his problem. The atheist and evolutionist are trapped and have deluded themselves. In an effort to not accept the supernatural creation (ex nihilo from nothing) by God, they have to accept a supernatural impossible beginning with no beginning. They have to believe in an eternal time space and matter, which would be a supernatural idea. They have broken the first commandment and in their own mind have created a creator before God created. God's greatest glory is his ability to create ex nihilo. Can you imagine trying to rob God of his greatest glory? A puny little man telling God he is not Alpha and Omega.
