Can it be true that man alone without any revelation from God, is not capable of conceiving of true creation (ex nihilo)? Can it be true that the natural man's mind must begin with something? A great creation scientist has clearly brought this to my attention.
If this concept is correct, then creation ex nihilo is an idea, a truth, that must be revealed by the Holy Spirit. The natural man would be inclined to believe time, space, and matter had no beginning by God (evolution). The natural man would be inclined to believe time, space, and matter were eternal, and had no beginning (evolution). The importance of this would help to explain why God chose to put this verse first in Holy Scripture. If you cannot get over this first verse and believe it, you cannot even get started to believe the gospel. It has been said that if a person will believe the first verse of Genesis, he will have no difficulty believing the rest of scripture. If you will not believe this first verse; you will be forever confused. Can you bring yourself to believe Genesis 1:1, or do you demand that certain conditions must be met, or certain words defined? If you cannot believe an omniscient Creator could mean what He clearly says in scripture, then you are searching for a way to not believe what the Bible clearly says. The person who cannot see and believe this clear statement of scripture has a problem that I no longer have. Thanks be to God that He has revealed the truth to my eyes that were blinded for so many years, and I pray that He will do the same for you even as you read this page.
If it is true that the concept of creation ex nihilo must be revealed to a person by the Holy Spirit, this would explain why it is seemingly so difficult to try to get fellow human beings to accept this clear Bible teaching. I have been amazed to find logic will not bring them to see this truth. The pseudo intellectual, the natural man must feel this would be too simple to be actually true as stated in Gen.1:1.
The gospel extends from Alpha to Omega, it is the whole story of reality, wrapped up in Jesus Christ the Creator, Redeemer and Savior. But if the gospel concept was not childishly simple and easy to understand, then the Gospel would be hidden.
In 2 Corinthians 4:3,4 Paul says: "But if the gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them that believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." Is the message of creation ex nihilo hidden from you? How do you relate to Jesus Christ as your Creator? Do you recall Jesus said: "If you have seen me, you have seen the Father" and also:"The Father and I are one"? Do you understand your Creator who is the first cause of all things is your Redeemer and Savior? I seriously doubt if you have understood this because if you had, you would not be able to shut up about it.
Can you understand the application of the apostle Paul's message in 1 Cor. 2:14 "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
What this is all about is the foundation of the gospel, of all reality, of the message that Jesus Christ offers free to us. "If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" That question is easily answered. They will drift aimlessly and without purpose, confused, ineffective, playing church games, ever searching and never coming to a knowledge of the truth.
If you do not believe in Genesis 1:1 as written, then you do not relate to Jesus Christ as the Holy Spirit desires. How you relate to Jesus Christ determines how you believe and how you believe determines your behavior.
He should be your Creator as well as your Redeemer and Savior. You should be overwhelmed by His power and glory. You should see that you shrink almost to zero, and you will when this message gets through your arrogance and image of your knowledge and importance. Most of our Christian activity in the Church is a repetition of Adam and Eve's sewing of fig leaves to try to hide their guilt and sin. He has done it all at Calvary. It is finished. He has covered our guilt and sin. We are free to get drunk whenever we want to. We are free to commit adultery whenever we want to. We are free to commit murder, rob, steal, lie, cheat anything we want to do because He has changed our 'want to'. You can know where you stand by your 'want to'. Old things have passed away, all things have become new. We are free. Your slate is clean, quit trying to clean your own slate. It is impossible. Do you get it Air Head? If not read it again.
Remember the purpose of creation science is to strengthen your faith.
