The preaching of the gospel by the clergy today seems to be largely ineffective. Of course, there are exceptions to that statement but for many years it has been apparent to me that the gospel has lost its power for the church. The reason for this has to be simple, because I know God and the gospel cannot change. The conclusion can only be that a true logical gospel is not being presented. This does not mean the clergy are not sincerely trying to present the gospel. They simply are omitting the foundation and are unaware of the error.
Exodus 20:11 "For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it."
Recently, I began to wonder why it is the Bible says creation took place in six ordinary days, but most of the clergy will never commit themselves on this subject.
Then I began to wonder why it is the Bible says Adam was the first man, and made by God from the dust of the earth, on day six, but most of the clergy will never commit themselves on this subject.
Then I began to wonder why it is the Bible says Eve was the first woman, and made by God from Adam's side on day six, and was the mother of all living which is totally contrary to the theory of evolution, but the clergy will never commit themselves on this subject.
Then I began to wonder why it is the Bible says there was no death in the world before Adam, but most of the clergy will never commit themselves on this subject.
Then I began to wonder why it is the Bible says there were a limited number of generations of people (listed in the boring begats) from Adam to Christ plainly saying the earth is not millions or billions of years old, but most of the clergy will never commit themselves on this subject.
Then I began to wonder why it is the Bible says there was a universal devastating flood in Noah's time that destroyed all men and land dwelling air breathing animals and the birds with the exception of those protected on the ark; this can clearly be figured from the biblical text at about 4,400 years ago, and the flood can clearly be figured at 1,656 years after creation by adding up the years in the biblical text. Such a flood would have destroyed supposed previous evidence of millions of years of annual sedimentary evidence. But most of the clergy will never commit themselves on this subject.
Then I began to wonder why it is the Bible says in the original Hebrew that the six day creation story in the first chapter of Genesis was a continuous event, by beginning each sentence with the conjunction 'and', which is clearly translated in the King James. But most of the clergy will never commit themselves on this subject, because they entertain the Gap Theory which was seldom mentioned until after the time of Darwin
Then I began to wonder why it is the Bible says there is absolute truth, but most of the clergy will never commit themselves on this subject.
Then I began to wonder why why why to all of these questions, and so asked my wife what was the answer. Her answer startled me, she said: "that's easy, men hate to admit they have been at fault or wrong about anything."
When we sit down to read a new book, do we tear out the first maybe 25 pages and throw them away? When we watch a movie, do we start to watch after the first fifteen minutes have already gone by? Why do we tell a new Christian to start in the middle to read the Bible? Without a clear beginning, no book or movie will make much sense.
In my opinion, the church is blowing an uncertain trumpet and is largely unaware of the fact.
The first eleven chapters of Genesis contain all of the doctrines of Christianity, and are largely omitted from the pulpit. This means the beginning and foundation of Christianity is seldom mentioned. Many of the clergy are not presenting the clear message of Genesis but instead are producing their own interpretation and wisdom in their sermons while omitting all of the explanatory truth of the beginning. The clergy are preaching to people today as though they were old Jews who believed in creation when actually people today are like the old Greeks who were evolutionists. The majority of people today are not receptive to the gospel, because they believe the universe is millions of years old. If you don't believe me, ask a group of people at random this next week. If the universe is millions of years old, the Bible is filled with error, and therefore the Bible is useless nonsense. It must be true as written by the Holy Spirit.
Do we need a savior? Not if there was death before Adam, as evolution proclaims the first man evolved after millions of years of death. Why can't the clergy understand that Christ died because Adam brought death into the world?
Can evolution be true? Not if Eve was the mother of all living, as the Bible proclaims.
Can we trust the Bible? Not if it contains error.
Is Christ our savior as the clergy keep telling us? We don't need a savior if there was death before Adam. What would we need to be saved from if sin didn't come from Adam? Does the Bible mean what it says? Do words have meaning?
The Bible warns us not to attack the clergy, because they are God's annointed. I am not attacking the clergy, I am begging them to choose where they stand in believing the scripture. The uncertain trumpet they are blowing is not being heard, because the story they are telling has a confused beginning. The Holy Spirit cannot honor a confused, garbled, half-true message. My only conclusion can be most of the clergy are not sure what they believe about the beginning, or else they cannot bring themselves to admit they are wrong, or else they are not believers themselves and are only hoping the message is true. The main trouble with preaching today is that it is centered on man's wisdom instead of God's simple true Bible story. In the meantime, Satan continues his prowl, and we continue to play church.
If it will help the clergy to make a decision, I will admit that when I saw my error as a scientist in this matter, I wept for four straight hours on my knees begging for mercy, because I realized I had been wrong and blind for so many years, and that the Bible was true as written.
