CREATION SCIENCE MESSAGES
NUMBER 25
GENESIS 1:1

In the previous little message we looked at the great creation scripture Romans 1:20, and saw its application to the marvelous properties of water. We could continue to explore "the invisible things of Him" almost endlessly by examining the anatomy and function of digestion, respiration, circulation, liver function, kidney function, endocrinology etc. Perhaps we will do this in some future little messages, but instead we will discuss what probably is the greatest creation scripture of all viz. Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth".

Since the Bible continues to be the world's best seller, and since almost everyone has at least at some time started to read the Bible, we could conclude that Genesis 1:1 is the most read sentence in literature, and in all the world in all time.

Since there are only two options for origins, creation or evolution, it could be said that these words of Genesis 1:1 are the most important words ever written. Remember evolution is Satan's religion to try to prove origins without God. If Genesis 1:1 is not rejected, it has been said there will be no problem in believing the rest of scripture. If God really created all things, then He controls all things and can do all things. Remember man's unbelief is man's choice, this is his free will to reject God because Romans 1:20 tells us there is no excuse for unbelief with all of the evidence of a Creator surrounding us. Since God placed this verse of scripture first, it must be of profound importance.

We know the science of physics tells us the universe is composed of three things and these are time, space, and matter. "In the beginning (time) God created the heaven (space) and the earth (matter)." There it is in the first verse of the Bible. The evolutionist has no answer for the origin of time, space, or matter and prefers to proclaim they are eternal, thus through his rejection chooses to worship the creation instead of the Creator.

We know the Hebrew word for God used in Genesis 1:1 is Elohim and Elohim is plural in form but commonly singular in meaning. We know John 1:1-3 says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made." So there is Jesus the Creator in the first verse of Genesis. The Spirit is mentioned in the second verse and isn't it interesting that the triune God created a universe (uni means one) composed of three things time, space and matter. Also note that these three things are really inseparable as matter occupies space in time. It is also worth noting that each part of His three part universe is composed of three inseparable parts with time being past present and future, space being length width and depth, and matter being solid liquid and gas. Therefore, God who is a trinity created a universe that is a trinity and each part of the created trinity is a trinity. This may not prove anything but it does make you take notice.

God doesn't try to prove He exists, He simply proclaims Himself. But in proclaiming Himself, lets look at what this first verse refutes:
(1) It refutes atheism, because God created the universe.
(2) It refutes pantheism, because God is outside of His creation.
(3) It refutes polytheism, because one God created all things.
(4) It refutes materialism, because matter had a beginning.
(5) It refutes dualism, because God was alone when He created.
(6) It refutes humanism, because God, not man is the ultimate reality.
(7) It refutes evolutionism, because God created all things.

Genesis 1:1 is the foundation verse of the foundation book of the Bible. All other ancient religious books and religious systems, as well as all modern philosophies, begin, not with God, but with preexisting matter or energy in some form. Genesis 1:1 is probably the most scientific statement ever written.

The Hebrew word for create used here in Genesis 1:1 is bara, and bara is always used only to mean the work of God. There is a Hebrew word for make - asah - and there is a Hebrew word for form - yatsar - but the word bara is used in Genesis whenever God is creating. Only God can bara.

The final thing I wish to point out in this message is in accord with the Law Of Causality which we discussed in message number 6 and which states that every effect has a cause and that no effect can be greater than its cause is that such a Creator that could create such a universe of such complexity as we see all around us must of necessity be omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.

We are given a choice, eternal God (creation) or eternal matter (evolution).

Remember the purpose of creation science is to strengthen your faith and remove evolutionary thinking from the church.
