Could the position of the majority of churches and Christians in the churches today be exactly where Satan wants us to be? Jesus said the church would be asleep when He returned. Maybe there is a good reason for the obvious ineffectiveness of the modern church in this present war with Satan. Can we be asleep and in precisely the same position that Paul was in when he tried to preach to the old Greeks on Mars Hill? Paul was preaching to evolutionists who did not believe in God the Creator of all things. The Greeks believed their own Gods had created all things.

Remember Peter was very successful on the day of Pentecost when Peter preached to the Jews in Jerusalem, but Peter was not preaching to evolutionists. The Jews believed Genesis and that God had created all things, they knew what sin was. They believed God was real. Peter could tell them they had crucified the Lord of Glory, and the Jewish creationists understood what he was saying. Such a sermon to the Greeks was foolishness.

Among ourselves we can keep telling sweet Bible stories and studying the scripture for ever with no effect on unbelievers or the nation’s direction. We Christians are a bunch of pansies. We must believe and defend God’s word as written before the Holy Spirit is going to answer our prayers for revival. Today, the church is largely preaching Peter’s message to an audience even in the church that is uncertain if evolution might be a reality because the church will not take a stand for the inerrancy of Scripture. Most of the church can see no importance in the matter. Could millions of unbelieving scientists be wrong? Yes. The wisdom of man is foolishness to God. The church is not even in this war with Satan. They are behind the lines shuffling papers and dancing and feeling good and eating casseroles. Satan is delighted. He doesn’t want anything to change.

I feel I should warn you however. Defend the scripture as written, and you will see war with Satan like you cannot even imagine. Days of dining and dancing and pleasure will end. At that time you will be totally dependent on God for His supernatural divine protection and intervention. Satan will try to feed you to the lions. That is where the Creator wants His people to be.

Keep preaching only Peter’s message to the evolutionary Greeks, they will tell you it is foolishness but you can feel good and imagine you are fighting Satan, sit in the pew or stand in the pulpit and be pious. It is ineffective. Satan has us if we don’t believe and defend the scripture.

Our culture is constantly being saturated with evolutionary philosophy, but biological evolution is scientifically impossible. We now know there would have to be a natural means of adding tremendous amounts of precise information to the DNA code. This cannot happen. It never could happen naturally by chance. God made living things after their kind. He told us so. Hath God said? Yes, God hath said.

Onward Christian soldiers? Don’t make me laugh. We are not Christian soldiers but are largely a collection of pitiful pious confused deluded cowards. Remember the sword cuts both ways. Keep on preaching only Peter’s message to Jews, the Greeks will reject it but you can feel good, and Satan will continue to smile as he directs the broad way traffic into hell.

There is not one of us that are good, no, not one. Even saved Christians are not good. We are totally dependent on our Creator, Savior, and Redeemer. All glory must be His!
