WHY DOESN’T THE CHURCH WANT TO BELIEVE THE BIBLE?

Can I have written that title? That title is a terrible impertinence, almost blasphemy or else a valid question. Recently, an 80 year old lady who is my sister and reminds me that I am only one year younger than she is popped the question to me.

Could the majority of the church be guilty of believing only parts of the Bible? Could the majority of the church not believe most of Genesis? Could the majority of the church especially not believe the creation part of Genesis? Could the majority of the church be actually selecting parts of Genesis to believe and rejecting other parts?

If this is correct, how could such an incredible position come to pass? I can think of one easy way to bring it about. Tell everyone repeatedly and endlessly that the earth and universe are millions and billions of years old. If these old ideas are accepted in your mind then your mind will reject the Bible’s history. The Gospel requires that the Bible account be accurate. If the Bible’s history isn’t accurate then the Gospel message becomes nonsense.

So, why doesn’t the church want to believe the Bible? The answer is a great deal of repentance would have to occur. This repentance would be an admission that a clever Satan has conned man again. Most pastors would have to admit they have been very poor shepherds. Most Christians would have to admit they have been playing church while losing their children to Satan because they didn’t accept God’s word and defend it as He wrote it. Nobody wants to be in that position, so most Christians just continue pious performance attitudes that make them feel good but don’t bother Satan in the least. Satan is thrilled with our confusion and weak belief.

What is the answer that will correct the nightmare? The answer is to believe the Bible. Accept it as written by the Holy Spirit. Stop taking your ‘wisdom’ from your fallen mind to the pages to display your unbelief and bring confusion. Satan will continue to control us until we unite as true believers and come under the authority of scripture. The Bible is our sword.

Remember, absolute truth requires the knowledge of all things past present and future. The Bible was written by the Holy Spirit who is omniscient and thus the Bible is the only absolute truth in the universe. Will you realize that your mind is fallen and you are totally dependent upon God? It may hurt your ego a little but where we are headed for eternity is possibly of importance.

Can most of the church quit compromising the scripture and return to its authority? When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? They can rebuild the foundations.
