IS SILENCE SIN? We Christians sometimes seem to search for ways to make ourselves and others feel guilty. I have noticed this from childhood. We feel we can influence the beliefs of others by putting a guilt trip on them. As we get older we become more aware of this and tend to ignore attempted guilt trips being put upon us by simply following what we have decided is right or wrong. So just ignore this if you desire.
If the Bible is truly the word of God as we Christians claim it to be and we believe it and accept it then aren’t the majority of Christians asking for a crash landing in the depth of the sea with a millstone collar? The Bible says the earth was created on Day 1 and the first man Adam on day 6 and then tells how many generations there were from Adam to Christ and they add up to show the earth cannot be even 10,000 years old. We are silent while the secular world teaches precious little innocent children that the creation is millions or billions of years old. If this book that teaches we are sinners because Adam sinned and thus need a Savior is wrong about the age of the creation, why should it be correct in John 3:16.
The day is coming and I do not believe the day is very far away when we Christians will repent in horror for our refusal to accept and defend what the Bible clearly teaches. We will realize we have been playing games and having a social club called Church while we silently said nothing as the secular world indoctrinated our little children with the idea that the Bible account of history is wrong. We are silent while the secular world teaches that the Bible account of geology is wrong. We are silent while the secular world teaches that the Bible account of anthropology and astronomy is wrong. We sweetly smile and l ook pious while our little children are filled with misinformation. We Christians have retreated into a corner and given up the fight to defend the scripture. The secular world says the Bible is wrong. We Christians say it doesn’t matter, let’s have a Bible study and feel good and pat each other on the back. By all means stay away from the subject of whether the Bible account of history, geology, anthropology and astronomy is correct.
Does it matter what we believe? As a man thinkith in his heart, so is he. It may not be a popular position but put me in the group that proclaims there are no millions of years, and that the Bible is accurate history as written by the Holy Spirit. Christian it is not how much scripture you know or can quote; it is how much do you believe. When the skeptics and unbelievers proclaim we Christians are a bunch of hypocrites they are largely correct. The gospel makes no logical sense if the creation is millions of years old.
I apologize for putting a guilt trip on you. Just fold your hands and sweetly proclaim this doesn’t matter, and all we need to do is trust in Jesus. Remember the account of the Gospel comes from that book of (misinformation?) you are trying to sell to the unbeliever.
The purpose of these little messages is to strengthen your faith and get evolutionary thinking out of the church.
