On December 7, about 5,000 years ago, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. On November 11, about ten thousand years ago W.W. 1 ended. On November 19, about 50,000 years ago Lincoln gave the Gettysburg address. About 80 million years ago a giant meteorite slammed into the site of Wetumpka Alabama.
If the above paragraph were to appear on the front page of the Mobile newspaper, the people would respond with a storm of letters to the editor correcting the nonsense. However, recently there was an article on the front page, the lead article, stating that about 80 million years ago a giant meteorite slammed into the site of Wetumpka Alabama, and I heard only three people suggest the information might be incorrect.
My point is that nobody can believe a mishmash of information if part of it is clearly erroneous. Lets turn to God's word which is accurate truth because it has it's source in an Omniscient Being which means He knows everything there is to know about everything. As we read in 1 Chronicles chapter one which is true, because it is part of the Word of God, we find the geneology given from Adam to Abraham. I call this list the boring begats and would hate to have to memorize them. Now turn over to Matthew chapter one for another list of boring begats and you will find the geneology given from Abraham to Jesus Christ. We all know that from Christ to now is about two thousand years. All of this shows there are not enough of the boring begats to even reach 10,000 years.
Was Adam the first man and created on day six by God from the dust of the earth, as the Bible says, or not? Do we believe the Bible, or not? If we can't believe Genesis 1-11, why should we believe John 3:16 ? We have a choice to believe the Bible or try to change what the Bible says. If we try to compromise what the Bible says, then a loving God gave us a Bible that does not clearly mean what it says and this means the Bible cannot be read and understood by God's average people. This puts us right back in the dark ages with the priests being the only interpreters of the Bible.
Evolution is not science. Science operates by observation of things in the natural world as they occur in the present. In science this observation is repeated through experiments and then repeated again and again to verify the data. Evolution has never been observed to occur, evolution cannot be demonstrated by experiment, science has never found any process by which evolution could occur. Evolution is only a bad false theory about the past that if true would eliminate any need of God. True science and the Bible are in agreement.
I pray the Church will begin to believe the Bible again instead of taking man's opinions to the Bible and trying to change the clear meaning God has put in His Word. Do not expect revival until the Church returns to the authority of the Word of God. The Church is asleep, and most of its defenders are intellectual cowards.
